  • How caring what others think can ruin your creativity

“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.” - Lao Tzu I think we've all fallen into the trap of caring too much about what others think at some point in our life. A few months ago I began blogging on [...]

Chocolate Shakeology Brownies

By |

Lately we've been on a kick of cooking up new and tasty sweet treats using Shakeology as the base. Doing so gives us some sweet tooth satisfaction, but also keeps us on track with the high protein and nutrient rich Shakeology. Our most recent favorite is chocolate Shakeology Brownies with a splash of Peanut Butter. Here's the recipe for all you chocolate lovers out there: Ingredients: 1/3 cup cocoa powder 1 scoop chocolate or Vegan Chocolate Shakeology 1 tablespoon of Honey 1/3 cup water 1 egg Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350 Degrees. Spray a bread loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray. Mix ingredients together and then spread in pan. (it will be very thick, just keep spreading it) Bake for 8-12 minutes ( I took mine off around 8 and it needed a few more minutes) I added just a little peanut butter the top as soon [...]

Shakeology Bark Recipe

By |

You've seen us post about it and you've seen us relish in it's deliciousness - now it's time for you to make your own! Here's the recipe for our latest healthy sweet treat, Shakeology Bark! It's hard like a candy bar but healthy like a salad bar! Ingredients 1 heaping tablespoon of coconut oil 1 scoop chocolate shakeology or café latte Shakeology Instructions Melt coconut oil in microwave for 30-40 seconds until clear. Add in 1 scoop of shakeology and stir. It always looks like there is way too much powder but there isn't - just keep stirring. Make a thin layer across the bottom of the Tupperware. Put in freezer for 5-10 minutes. Enjoy!

Health Vs. Hustle – Which one should rule your life?

By |

If you follow Kari and I, you know we are huge fans of the hustle. First, if you're unfamiliar with why we believe hustle one of the most important words in your vocabulary, check out this video. With that said, let's get straight to the point of this post. The Hustle never outweighs your Health.  The Hustle should never outweigh your Health. The hustle involves sacrifice, it involves hard work, and it involves time all in the name of achieving your goals and designing the life you want - however, the hustle should never come ahead of your diet, your workouts, or your health. You can either invest in your health now, or you can invest in medical bills later in life. As dark as it sounds, you only get one body and the time you have on this earth is a non-renewable resource. Check out this video from [...]

60 Second High Protein Pudding

By |

When I think of pudding, I think of a sugar filled dessert. The other night I was working on getting my macros in and realized all the food I had in front of me might just taste well when mixed together. Me being the crazy cat I am decided, "Why Not?!". I was pleasantly surprised with the results. While this might not be as epic as a the 4 hour version of Shakeology Pudding, I trust that it will still be a quick and tasty treat for you. Here's the recipe: 2 tablespoons peanut butter (I use reduced fat but watch out for the sugar content) Half Cup of Oiko's Triple Zero Vanilla Yogurt 1 serving of Chocolate Shakeology or Performance Recovery Protein. Stirrrrrrrrrr! Add water as needed to create the consistency you would like. Enjoy!

Stop caring about MOTIVATION and focus on DISCIPLINE

By |

Forget MOTIVATION. Give me DISCIPLINE. In the journey of life, MOTIVATION can only go so far. Motivation is fleeting, situational, and can be found everywhere. I believe what we all need more of is DISCIPLINE. Discipline is consistent, habitual, and rare to be found. I'm realizing more and more that watching a motivational video, reading a powerful quote, or listening to a legendary speech is not what causes me to make the decisions I do day in and day out. It's discipline. It's knowing that I do what I do because it's who I am rather than because I'm motivated in the moment. It's my path, my calling, my role on this earth. Motivation is good in the moment, but what counts, what is measured, and what will ultimately determine your life results is discipline. #SundayThoughts

How caring what others think can ruin your creativity

By |

“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.” - Lao Tzu I think we've all fallen into the trap of caring too much about what others think at some point in our life. A few months ago I began blogging on my former Raging Fitness Geek blog. I entered this journey into the blogging world with the intention of creating content around my passion for fitness, improving my writing skills, and having fun. Within my first few posts, I received criticism towards my writing skills from a friend I respected as a proven writer. The criticism came with no suggestions, tips, or actionable feedback but instead simply that my writing needed work. This blank criticism almost ended my newly found passion for blogging on the spot. In the months since I've thought about why this simple criticism impacted me so profoundly. Ultimately, I don't blame the individual; I [...]
